An artist's visual response to 'Raising the Creek', a group initiative of the Houghton Valley community.
The time-based image sequence activates the valley's original ecology or 'body of the land', mapping its history of development and former use as a city landfill. The background colour of litmus paper is a reference to the present day effects of chemical leachate, currently piped via stormwater outflow to the sea. Here, water is celebrated as the constant purifier.
Flow Chart is presented in two parts. See also Part II, a video collage of the art installation in situ with interactions by the local community.
