The project 'Letters to the Creek' was about creating interactive tool (postcard with bookmark addressed to the Waterwheel mailbox) for community engagement and awareness about local initiative 'Lifting the Creek' and contributing towards a positive environmental change in local area. The waterwheel mailbox, which was positioned opposite the Houghton Bay Road playground for around two weeks, received over 50 postcards giving written and drawn personal responses to the creek. Main themes of the responses included expressing enthusiasm about the idea of lifting the creek, reinforcing the importance of a clean environment, remembering the past health of the creek, apologies for the human impact on the creek, and imagionaries of the future clean creek and thriving wildlife.
